Manu - Machupicchu 6d/5n

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado

At the airport of Puerto Maldonado, the local guide and the bus will lead the group and drive for fifteen minutes to the Hotel Cabaña Quinta or Anaconda Lodge in Puerto Maldonado. While enjoying your first taste of the forest in the hotel. we will visit the local market in Puerto Maldonado.

Overnight in Puerto Maldonado, before dinner the guide will inform of the activities the following days and ask you to pack only the necessary gear for your next few days, and leave the rest at our safe deposit. This helps us keep the boats and cargo light. Typical jungle dinner at local restaurant.

Day 2: Puerto Maldonado - Manu

Family Nazca Travel to Manu by car, the journey by car will be about 2.5 hours to reach the town of Colorado village, on the way we will cross the river Inambari with a local boat over a period of 15 minutes, and continue our trip by car for 1 hours more to reach Colorado Village, at Colorado we are going to transfer from the car to the boat and continue our trip up Madre de Dios River, arriving Amazon Manu Lodge after 4 or 5 hours boat driving.

In the course of our journey we observe animals, monkeys and birds, like capybara (large rodent), caiman, capuchin monkey, red howler, birds such as herons, kingfishers and Terns. The boat ride is very comfortable; has a roof for protection from heat, and comfortable seating where you can enjoy the pristine forest throughout the journey. On the way we visit the Blanco owbox lake, where we look for the family of Giant river otters, moving with the catamaran around the lake by paddling, chanse to see birds like Hoatzin, horned screamer and Monkeys.

Overnight at the lodge Amazon Manu Lodge. After dinner we are going by boat for short period of time to watch eyes of alligators by flashlight. Night at Amazon Manu Lodge.

Day 3: Macaw and Tapir Clay Lick - Canopy Tower

Family Nazca This morning we will head to the macaw clay lick for about 45 minutes away by boat down the Madre de Dios river. Where hundreds of colorful macaws and smaller parrots visit the clay lick to consume the minerals they require, also helps indigestion. The activity of the macaws watching will take place from a platform shelter, this place should be to enter without shoes, in which can sit in comfortable individual seats, the platform is built of height of 5 meters above the ground and have a roof made of palm leaves is a comfortable and cool, important to use insect repellent to avoid mosquito bites. After finish the parrots and macaws activity, return to the lodge for our food. Afternoon visit the canopy tower to spot the forest canopy with birds and monkeys as Monksaki, Black Spider, Emperor and many birds like the trumpeter, etc. Around, walk through the forest and return to the lodge overnight at the Lodge Amazon Manu Lodge.

Lunch at the Lodge, after short rest your Guide will take for hike on the trails to have the possibility to see some of the 13 species of Monkeys and birds and visit the metal canopy tower of 31 meters high, to see the canopy forest.

After dinner your guide will take you to a platform overlooking a Mammal clay lick in the heart of the forest. Here you can experience the incredible sounds of the night and experience the night walk. Optional if you like to sleep all night at the platform, it has mosquito net, mattress and cover shit.

If not after activity you could go back to the lodge which is located 20 minutes walking away from the mammal clay lick to the Lodge. Animals that may visit the clay lick are the Tapir (a large mammal found in the Amazon), Deer and the Agouti paca.

Day 4: Amazon Manu Lodge - Ollantaytambo (Inkas Sacred Valley)

Family Nazca Early in the morning we will take our boat to Colorado village, breakfast on the boat. We will continue our trip back to Ollantaytambo on the Inka Sacred Valley, today we are going to start our trip of 11 hours by a private bus, asceding from 250 meters msm. to the highest mountain pass of 4750 msm. arriving to Ollantaytambo at 2.792 msm.

Night at Pakaritampu Hotel.

Day 5: Ollantaytambo - Machupicchu - Cusco

In the morning we will take our train to Machu Picchu, visit the archaeological site of Machu Picchu, returning the same evening by train to Ollanta, the bus will take as to Cusco 3,400 msm. overnight at Andes de America Hotel. Dinner Show.

Day 6: Cusco

Family NazcaFree morning, after Lunch we are going to visit the Archeological sites around Cusco, like Koricancha, Pucapucara, Sacsayhuamán, Tambomachay and Quenqo, City tour, Dinner Show, night at los Andes de America. End of our service.
