Highlights: Birding one of the worlds most diverse spots. Macaw and Mammal clay lick, 1 huge canopy towers canopy birding & distinctive habitats to bird (including bamboo).

Day 1:

Arrive in Lima, transfer to hotel,
Overnight at Hacienda Hotel**** in Miraflores.

If you have time we could Visit the Pantanos de Villa marshes and surroundings
Overnight at Hacienda Hotel**** in Miraflores.

Day 2:

Early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado and drive the bus. Afternoon birding at the road on the way to Colorado Village.
Overnight at the basic Hotel.

Day 3:

Early in the morning we take our car and canoe for a 5 hours and birding during the boat trip to Amazon Manu Lodge.
Overnight at Amazon Manu Lodge.

Day 4:

Early morning visit to the spectacular macaw clay lick, a short boat trip from the lodge. From a specially designed blind we will witness this colourful display of hundreds of macaws and parrots. After the birds leave we will visit an oxbow lake and the followed by an afternoon of birding on the huge canopy tower on the Kapok tree.

Day 5/6/7/8:

We will spend the next 3 days birding in a variety of habitats. Our activities will include extensive birding in terra firme forest, where the trails will give us access to several known territories of hard to get birds, follow mixed species flocks and spend time in flooded forest. We will also visit the bamboo in the terra firme for almost all of the specialists of this unique habitat, for Crested Pygmy Tyrant, Flammulated Bamboo Tyrant, Rufus Headed Woodpecker, look for the Rufous-fronted Antthrush in the Heliconia thickets, walk in the Tapir lake trail in the primary forest looking for Black Tinamou, Semicollared Puffbird, Pavonine Quetzal and visit a typical large oxbow lake Cocha Blanco. Since we will be based at the comfortable lodge.

Day 9:

Afternoon 3 hours boat trip with some birding on the river will take us to Colorado Village, where we take our car to Puerto Maldonado, where we will spend the night at the Paititi Hotel.

Day 10:

After breakfast we go for birding in the secondary forest, going to the airport where we will take a flight to Lima, spend the night at Hacienda Hotel**** in Miraflores.

Day 11:

Transfer to the airport for international flight.
